Mrs. Minerva Whitaker of this city, died early this morning at the home of her son, Lon Whitaker, in Urbana, Ill., where she had been visiting for the last two months. Because of her ill health, Mrs. Whitaker was compelled to give up her home and went for a visit with her four children. The deceased was born in Ohio in 1832, being seventy-six years old at the time of her death. She was a resident of this city for the last twenty-five years. Her home was at 708 south Green street. Mrs. Whitaker was a life long member of the Christian Church. She was the widow of the late Preston L. Whitaker, who was a captain in the civil war. Four children, Will and Lon Whitaker, of Urbabana, Ill., Joseph Whitaker, of Pendleton, and Mrs. Ross Cohoon of Thorntown, survive. Mrs. Whitaker was a devoted mother, a kind, obliging neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew her. The body will arrive here over the Big Four at 12:46 o'clock Thursday and be taken to the home of Mrs. Zella Eltzroth, 513 south Water street, where funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Friday morning. - thanks so very much to Kim H
